Blowing away the gloomy days of the crisis, it seems that a fresh breeze has started to warm up the spirit of the fertiliser industry.
The International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA) confirmed in its last report that the whole industry was now moving back to the healthier levels of 2007 when the sun was still shining on agrimarkets.
World fertiliser demand is rebounding in 2009/10 and is seen as firm in the medium term, IFAs analysts Patrick Heffer and Michel Prudhomme declared in their report.
The IFA expects a return to more favorable and more stable market conditions, as farmers are seen as reinvesting in phosphate (P) and potash (K) fertilisers to maintain or improve the fertility of their soils. As a result, P and K fertiliser production and consumption are forecast to increase consequently within the next four years.
