The benchmark index for dry bulk transportation costs gained this week, following higher iron ore prices, as Chinese buyers re-entered the market to stock up on the steel making ingredient.
Dry bulk shipping costs, which account for many industrial minerals including bauxite, phosphate and salt, also recovered on expected demand for wheat as inventories begin to run low.
