Nordkalk Corp., a leading producer of wollastonite and limestone, has appointed Bjarne Mitts as chairman of the board. The previous chairman, Bjšrn Mattsson, continues in his role as deputy chairman of the board. Mitts has been president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Nordkalk’s parent company Rettig Group Ltd which fully acquired Nordkalk last month (IM 19May 2010: Nordkalk sold to Rettig). He will also remain in this position.
What are the main reasons behind your new role at Nordkalk?
I am representing the main owner, Rettig, in the board of directors of Nordkalk. Before that, I held the position of vice chairman.
Rettig has just signed a share purchase agreement with the co-owners of Nordkalk. As a consequence, the company will be fully owned by Rettig. The transaction is, however, subject to competition authorities’ approval.
