Traxys manages a wide range of industrial minerals worldwide such as soda ash, alumina, wollastonite, rutile, silicon carbide, kyanite, mullite, fluorspar, spodumene, calcined bauxite (abrasive and refractory grades), olivine, fused magnesite, oil drilling barites, vermiculite and aluminium fluoride.

The trading company was created in 2003 following the merger of Belgium’s Sogem SA, a former subsidiary of Umicore Group focusing on base metals and concentrates, and Considar, the trading arm of Arcelor SA mainly active in North America, which specialises in supplying the steel industry with ferroalloys and specialty metals.

Traxys has territorial agency agreements with international companies including Eti Soda (soda ash and sodium bicarbonate), Sublime Technologies (silicon carbide), Mao Tai (calcined bauxite) Rand York Minerals (chromite foundry sands), Kyanite Mining, Minmetals (barytes) and North Cape Minerals (olivine).
