Zircon sand prices on the rise

August 2008

After a period of relative stability, prices for zircon sand are rising again on the back of strong demand and tightening supply conditions. It is understood that leading producers are presently working towards implementing increases for uncontracted zircon of up to some US$50-70/tonne over the second half of the year from a previous level of $775-800/tonne.
